Credit card and bank debit online payments are processed via secure PayPal checkout (select "PayPal" as payment option). You can also pay by other methods. You are not required to register with PayPal to use a credit card.

We only accept credit card payments online through the PayPal checkout system.
Sorry, we cannot accept credit cards over the telephone.

General Information

A confirmation email is sent automatically when Check Out is completed. Set your email program to accept mail from contact(at)artofadornment.ca (if not received within 24 hours, check your spam/junk mail folder).

Rest assured: our checkout and member account data is encrypted by SSL (secure socket layer) to keep your transaction and personal information private.



Technical Problem During Check Out?
This is likely because your browser's security settings are set unusually high. First check that your browser is able to accept "cookies" (small pieces of information sent by a web server to store on a web browser - in our case, so the browser can remember what you have in the cart while you visit another store page). Cookie settings are usually under Tools > Options > Privacy but may be different depending on your browser. If this does not solve the problem, see our Techncial Problems FAQ for help.


Sales Tax
In compliance with Canadian tax law, GST will be charged on final total on orders shipped to Canada (HST provinces will be charged HST). PST will also be charged on final total on orders shipped to British Columbia.

What Is PayPal?

PayPal is the world's largest and most trusted online payment checkout system (in fact it is the only online payment system trusted by Ebay and is accepted at Sears, Wal-Mart, FTD, and many others) which processes credit card transactions instantly - no PayPal registration is required. They also offer a service where you can debit funds from your bank account (registration with PayPal required). Your financial information is securely processed by PayPal and is never revealed to the merchant. PayPal is fast, free, secure and safe. You may sign up at www.paypal.com or while checking out, but it is not required.

There are two ways to pay online. Both use the PayPal system, so select "PayPal" during Check Out in either case:

Registered PayPal Account/Debit
Funds are instantly debited from your current PayPal balance, on-file credit card, or on-file bank account. After the Confirm Order screen you are directed to login at PayPal. Tip: for smoother Check Out we recommend you use the same email address in your account profile here as you use at PayPal.

Credit Card Processing* (No PayPal Registration Required)
After the Confirm Order screen you will see a PayPal screen. On the left-hand side you are asked "Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue". Click the word "continue" and enter your credit card details. Transactions display on statement as "PAYPAL *ARTOFADORNMENT".

*Prepaid VISA/AMEX/MC Gift Cards: These are not actually credit cards (they work like gift certificates) and are issued by many different institutions - not all types are currently supported in our checkout, and some cannot be used for international purchases. Cards which do not require the use of a PIN or other security data are not accepted. Before using a prepaid card online it must be registered (see Online or Phone purchases). If you encounter a problem while using your card you must contact the card issuer directly for assistance.

PayPal is available in over 190 countries. If you cannot use PayPal, see Alternate Payment below.

Alternate Payment

If using any payment method other than PayPal or HyperWallet, your items will be reserved for you for a maximum of 7 calendar days (10 if overseas) to allow time for payment processing. If we do not receive payment or contact from you after that time, your order will be considered "abandoned" and subsequently cancelled. Note: only online payments made through our checkout system will appear in your account's Order History.

HyperWallet (Offered Through Checkout)
(North America only) HyperWallet is an online payment service which allows you to transfer funds from most Canadian banks and credit unions (your financial information is securely processed by HyperWallet and is never revealed to the merchant). To use this method you must already have a registered HyperWallet account. Simply select "HyperWallet" during Check Out and follow the instructions on the screen.

INTERAC Email Money Transfer
(North America only) Money Transfers are bank debit payments which transfer funds directly between Canadian banks and credit unions (funds are NOT sent by email - your financial data is securely processed by your bank and is never revealed to the merchant). To use this method you must already use online banking with a participating institution. Simply contact us with your full name, shipping address, and the items you wish to purchase (include item #'s!). We will send you an invoice via email with your total within 24 hours. Then login to your online banking, select "Interac Email Money Transfer" from the Payments/Transfers menu, and enter the details from our invoice. Transaction fees may apply (consult your bank).

Cash (In Person)
(Downtown Vancouver BC only) Canadian funds in exact change. Please note that our studio is not open to the public so we must meet elsewhere, see pick-up. Simply contact us with your full name, telephone number, the items you wish to purchase (include item #'s!), and a suggested day/time for pick-up within the next 7 days. We will email you a total within 24 hours. If you cannot come downtown for pick-up or have already paid for your order online we MUST ship.

Money Order
(Worldwide) Money orders are purchased in cash at your bank or post office (note: you will need to buy an "international" type if you are outside Canada). Simply contact us with your full name, shipping address, and the items you wish to purchase (include item #'s!). We will send you an invoice via email with a total in your choice of US Dollars, British Pounds, Canadian Dollars, Australian Dollars or Euros within 24 hours. You should plan to mail the money order within 2 days of receiving our invoice to ensure payment arrives promptly. Once payment has arrived it may take a few days to process, after which time we can ship your order.

Bulk Discounts/Wholesale

We do not offer wholesale prices, nor a printed catalogue. Our products are hand made in Canada by the designers themselves, not mass-produced on sweatshop factory assembly lines, and our markups are as low as possible. The only discount we offer is 20% off orders valued over $200 USD made in one transaction, on the total before shipping and tax. This may seem unusual, but our prices are already very reasonable for quality designer accessories - they will easily sell at double or triple the cost.

You are not required to buy multiples of the same product, and the discount applies to sale items. Email us with your store name, shipping address, and tax/resale number to get the discount coupon code. The code can be used multiple times and does not expire.

Exclusions: All products by designers Atratus, BinarySoul, GrannyGoth, Kitsune and Lady V. You can still buy them however they will not be discounted or affect the minimum order requirement.

Conditions: Only current in-stock quantities are eligible. We do not do advance orders or backorders. Bulk orders are packaged without gift bags, gift boxes, etc. to reduce waste and shipping cost.

Combined Payments

To save on shipping costs, multiple items must be paid in one single transaction - separate transactions must be shipped separately. Ebay orders must be paid in full at Ebay, and online store orders must be paid in full the online store. Sorry, purchases from both cannot be combined together, nor items "added on" after payment has been received. Our shipping system is automatically integrated, therefore once an order has been placed and paid for it cannot be combined with any others.
